L'Università Mediterranea sarà protagonista dal 27 al 29 giugno 2016 di un evento internazionale di grande rilievo, realizzato grazie al partenariato fra 15 prestigiosi atenei europei, alcuni dei quali manderanno a Reggio Calabria i propri presidi di facoltà, direttori di dipartimento o prorettori all'internazionalizzazione.

L'iniziativa, gratuita per tutti i partecipanti, è stata promossa dalle Cattedre di Diritto privato europeo (prof. Angelo Viglianisi Ferraro) e Diritto privato comparato (prof.ssa Amalia Chiara Di Landro) del Corso di laurea in Giurisprudenza e di Istituzioni di diritto privato (prof.ssa Tiziana Rumi) del Corso di laurea in scienze economiche (Dipartimento DiGiEC dell’Università di Reggio Calabria) e gode di un autorevole comitato scientifico.

La Summer School, grazie alla preziosa collaborazione del prof. Francesco Bagnato e alla determinazione del Rettore, prof. Pasquale Catanoso, si svolgerà presso il nuovo Residence Universitario (nel quale potranno soggiornare gratuitamente 40 studenti dell'Ateneo reggino, scelti secondo criteri assolutamente meritocratici).

L'iniziativa è comunque aperta a tutti gli interessati e conferisce 3 cfu agli studenti di Giurisprudenza della Mediterranea.

Ben 85 giovani studenti e laureati reggini hanno presentato la propria domanda di partecipazione.

Le lezioni frontali - dopo una cerimonia inaugurale che avrà luogo lunedì 27 mattina alle ore 10:30 - si svolgeranno la sera dalle 18:00 alle 20:00.
Durante il resto della giornata, i partecipanti potranno studiare - individualmente o in gruppo - sui materiali forniti dai docenti.
L'evento prevede un servizio di traduzione, curato da alcuni giovani "faculty advisors" reggini (Alessandro Romeo per lo spagnolo, Alessandro Pietro Fulco e Federico Zindato per l'inglese), che consentirà a tutti di partecipare attivamente alla Summer School.

OBJECTIVES

• To offer a quality and intensive training in consumer law, focusing on international and regional law developments
• To promote the sharing of knowledge, experiences and practices and to encourage comparison among different legislative solutions
• To provide participants with important updated documentation
• To consolidate an international network of expertise in consumer law, particularly on the European level.

CANDIDATES

• Students (who could apply for free accommodation at the New University Residence)
• Professors, teachers, lecturers, scholars and researchers
• Judges, lawyers or consultants
• Civil Servants from institutions responsible for consumer protection policy or from organizations that develop initiatives in consumer protection or in closely related fields
• Consumer Organizations’ officials, representatives or other actors from the associative world working in related fields (sustainable consumption, fair trade, standard of living, patients’ rights, etc.)
• Economic actors and professional associations’ officials or representatives.

DOCUMENTATION
A complete and updated collection of documents will be handed to the participants, at the opening of the Summer School. This collection will include a selection of legislative documents and other relevant legal texts and articles.

CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE AND CREDITS FOR THE LAW STUDENTS
Upon successful completion of the School – by attending at least 80% of the scheduled classes – participants will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance, which qualifies the “Mediterranea” University Law students for the accreditation of 3 ECTS points.

TUITION FEES
The Summer School is completely free of charge.
